How taxes work

Tax happens at the paycheque, not on a monthly bill. Every successful job payout applies, in order:

  1. Income tax — progressive bracket on the gross amount.
  2. Asset withholding — a small % per owned property and per owned vehicle. Combined with income tax, total withholding is capped at 30% of gross.

Why

The old model billed property + vehicle tax every 30 real-world days. FiveM time runs about 30x real time, so players were earning thousands between bills and tax stopped being a real sink. Withholding per pay fixes that AND avoids the "log in to a $5,000 backbill" experience.

Player-to-player income

Taxi fares paid by passengers route through the same withholding pipe, so taxi income gets taxed too. Hand-to-hand cash transfers between players don't.

Receipts

Every withholding component shows up on the audit ledger as its own row. If you own a house and two cars, one paycheque generates four ledger entries (income tax + property + 2 x vehicle).
