Opening an account
New characters do NOT have a bank account by default — this is deliberate, not an oversight. To open one, walk into any Fleeca branch and talk to the teller NPC.
Until you do, an ATM will tell you "You don't have a bank account yet" and refuse to deposit or withdraw. That's the expected answer, not a bug — the $1,000 signup bonus doesn't exist until someone opens the account for you.

Any branch works — there is no per-bank balance, your account follows you.
What you get on signup
- $1,000 signup bonus credited to bank_savings
- A credit card auto-issued into your inventory (linked to your IBAN)
- Your IBAN, used for transfers and bill payments
- Paycheques start landing here once you take a job
Taxes
Income tax is withheld at the moment you get paid — progressive brackets, nothing to file. If you own property or vehicles, additional withholding is taken per paycheque, capped so income + asset withholding never exceeds 30% combined. There is no separate monthly tax bill anymore.
Showing your card
Use the credit_card item from your inventory to flash it at people nearby (same as showing your ID card).
